Good habits benefit our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental health! To make this year the best yet, we've come up with some healthy habits to get you started on a path of wellness.
Eat more fruits and vegetables daily. The vitamins and minerals in fruits and vegetables will make you feel better mentally and physically.
Drink more water. Especially in the morning! Drinking water right after you wake up helps rehydrate your body after a night's sleep.
Be active for 10-30 minutes a day. Experts generally recommend that adults do at least 2.5 hours of activity per week. Even going for a 10-minute walk a day can make a big difference!
Try meditating. Daily if you can! Meditating every day can help you be calmer, more optimistic, have less anxiety, and have better mental health. Try a guided mediation on YouTube or practice breathing on your own.
Get enough sleep. 8 hours is usually the golden number for adults. Sleep plays a vital role in your health! Try to stick to a sleep schedule and limit phone or electronics use 1 hour before sleep to ensure a restful night.
Reflect on your day and express gratitude. Expressing gratitude is great for your mental health and helps us appreciate the little things that sometimes go unnoticed. It's also great to reflect at the end of the day and assess what worked/didn't and what is to be worked on going forward.
Read a book a month. Keep your mind sharp by setting a reading goal! 1 book a month is a great place to start. It's great to have an activity that doesn't involve screen time.
We hope you find a healthy habit to love and incorporate it into your life this year!
