Live in Caregiver Jobs
We are currently looking to add to our team of live-in caregivers and home health aides for the elderly in the greater shoreline Connecticut region – primarily in the Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Essex, Deep River, Waterford, Niantic, and Lyme/Old Lyme areas.
We do not require any license or previous experience, although it is a plus if you do have caregiver experience. We currently have openings for both part-time (2-4 days/week) and full-time (7 days a week) live in home health aides. Live-in caregivers spend their sleep time at the client’s home in a Golden Horizons-approved suitable living environment.
Job Responsiblities
Every client is unique in their care needs, however, live-in caregivers generally should expect to perform the same duties as our hourly personal care attendants and homemakers/companions. Live in caregivers stay overnight at the client’s and are given sleep time breaks. Some of the tasks you may be asked to perform as a live-in caregiver:
Provide the same services as a personal care attendant:

Bathing
-
Toileting
-
Dressing
Provide the same services as a homemakers/companions

Light housekeeping
-
Meal preparation
-
Assist with activities of daily living

Medication reminders
-
Socialization
-
Kitchen/Bathroom cleaning
Job Requirements
Providing top-notch care starts with you! Your ability to care is a gift. In addition to this, we also require that all of our caregivers possess the following qualities:
Experience in caring for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia is also always a plus.

Reliable means of transportation. Driver’s license/car not required but caregiver must be able to have his/her own means of getting to and from client’s homes.

Kind heart with a passion for serving others

Previous experience preferred, but not required!

Ability to pass federal background check

Ability to pass drug test

At least 1-2 professional references

Ability to speak English sufficiently so as to perform the duties of the job
