Senior Care Attendants (SCA)
Golden Horizons is currently looking to hire personal care assistants for shifts in the Old Saybrook, Essex, Clinton, Westbrook, Lyme, Old Lyme, Niantic, and Waterford areas.
While we do not require any license or previous experience, it is a plus if you have experience in the caregiving field! We do offer paid training to all staff and are willing to train the right candidate. Many of our caregivers have varying professional backgrounds. What all our employees have in common is a strong desire to help others.
Job Responsiblities
While every client’s needs are different, here are some examples of tasks you may be asked to perform as a personal care assistant (PCA):

Assist client with personal care: this may include bathing, dressing, toileting, hair care, skin care, etc.

Perform all of the duties of a Homemaker/Companion

Light housekeeping
-
Meal preparation
-
Medication reminders
-
Assist with activities of daily living
-
Socialization
-
Kitchen/Bathroom cleaning
-
Vacuum and dusting
-
Transport and accompany to appointments, errands, Senior Center, etc.

Grocery shopping
-
Companionship: go for walks, take client for a ride in the car, play cards, board games
Job Requirements
The most important thing quality that you can have as an employee is a passion to care and reliability! Here are some other aspects that we also value: Reliable means of transportation. Driver’s license/car not required but caregiver must be able to have his/her own means of getting to and from client’s homes.
