Four years ago today, 26 lives were heartlessly ended, countless more lives were changed forever. As a community, as a state, as a nation we were shocked. Together we mourned. Together, we remember. We remember the tragedy that shook us to our core. We remember the heroism of the teachers, of the first responders and the medical teams. We celebrate the light and joy that these 26 lives spread in their time with us. Out of the ashes hope rises.
This holiday season, as you attend parties, open presents, bustle about and celebrate life with your loved ones, remember those not with us. Pay it forward with random acts of kindess, reminding the world of compassionate hearts. Let that be the legacy of these amazing souls so tragically taken from us.
To the community of Newtown and the families and friends of the victims, you are in our thoughts and our hearts this season.
