As we push through COVID-19 with (hopefully) the worst behind us, we would like to remind our clients and caregivers of the basic safety precautions for home visits.
- Use good hand hygiene, follow the CDC guidelines
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, such as a face mask or gloves. Fully vaccinated clients and fully vaccinated caregivers may now visit without masks if the client has provided written consent. If you're a caregiver and you're not sure whether your client has indicated a mask preference, contact our office! If you're a client who hasn't received our Covid Mask Preference/Vaccination service, please call or email us. If you have not been vaccinated, whether you're a client or a caregiver, all people in the house must wear masks while care is being provided per our Covid policy in line with CT Coronavirus restrictions.
- Check your temperature daily and do not enter a client's home if you have a fever.
It's important to try and stay healthy year round, not only during a pandemic. Using hand sanitizers can be an easy and effective way to disinfect hands after grocery shopping or doing a high-touch activity when there is not a sink available for proper hand cleansing.
And, of course, coming out of Covid, Golden Horizons is recommending that all caregivers receive the Covid Vaccination. This is one major way to protect yourself from infection.
Protecting yourself and others, whether you're a caregiver or a client, should be a top priority. This June, learn more about the precautions you can take to make your environment the safest it can be in honor of National Safety Month!
