"Mom, why is the AC off?" You ask exasperatedly.
"I'm cold," she replies.
"It's too hot in here, Mom, let's get some AC going in here, and I'll get you another blanket."
Dressing in layers may be alright for someone older, but it doesn't help the family members, caregivers or health professionals who may enter the home. AC, fans or some method of regular cooling and air circulation should be going in the home of an elderly person during the hot summer. Someone can always wear layers to warm up, but the air needs to be cooled so nobody has overheating issues, especially when working.
