An Interview with Tiff Bush
I attended Orville H. Platt High School and Stone School of Business. I attained an Associate of Science Degree from Sacred Heart University, had a 20 year career at Aetna Life Insurance Company, and currently I am Founder/CEO of Insurance with T insurance company.
How did you get started in insurance?
I used the experience I obtained from my Aetna career and started helping people with Medicare plans.
How long have you been in business / owned Insurance with T?
12 years.
What areas of insurance do you specialize in?
I specialize in Medicare Education and Insurance plans, Small Group Medical Plans, Individual Health plans, Dental plans, Life Insurance and Lump Sum Cancer policies.
What do you like most about insurance?
What is your passion? I love to make the concept of insurance easy for people. I start with educating them in a stress-free environment and then help them select a plan based on their needs. I then service them all year long.
What do you find most challenging in the field of insurance?
There are definitely many options an individual can choose from. I
have positioned myself to represent most major carriers so that my clients can "shop for insurance" within the many plans I represent.
What is most rewarding for you in insurance?
Knowing that I've helped an individual using the most compliant and compassionate approach.
What does a typical day look like for you in your business?
A typical day includes sitting with clients and explaining how Medicare works (what it covers and doesn't cover), what can be added to original Medicare to protect from catastrophic losses and guiding clients into plans that best suit their budget and health needs.
What is the process you take clients through in purchasing insurance?
I believe education is the key to understanding a Medicare or any other type of insurance plan. I take the time to go over all the items included in the plans and identify things that are not covered.
What advice would you give someone first looking into purchasing insurance?
To find an agent who will educate them first and who has access to many different plans to sell.
What is an ideal referral for you?
90% of my business comes from referrals. Mainly, because I take the time with each client to help them choose a plan and am there to service them throughout the year.
Who/what (professions) are the best referral sources for you in the context of business-to-business relations?
I get most of my business-to-business referrals from group benefit consultants who are looking to help individuals eligible for Medicare move from their group plan to an individual plan.
What's your tagline? "Medicare - Don't Go Through it Alone"
How can you help elders, in particular, regarding insurance?
I am a very patient and compassionate individual who will spend as much as necessary to work with an individual to make sure they understand their insurance and how to use it.
What sets you apart from your competition?
I research every plan and find all the ways to make the insurance process smooth for each Medicare client.
What is your geographical reach?
I service all of Connecticut (when I can't physically, I have 6 agents who can). I am licensed in the following states: CT, MI, VA, NC and FL and I have a website anyone in the US can go to and ask a question about Medicare and it's free: www.freemedicarecoach.com
Anything else you would like us to know?

Message from the Office
Summer, fall, winter, spring...each season carries its own beauty, its own activities, its own sports, whether skiing, sailing, swimming etc. Each season carries its own fun and its own risks. Risk of loss is what insurance is for.
Why do we bring insurance up? Because in this edition, we are featuring Tiff Bush, of Insurance with T. She grew up with our own, Lisa Gradzewicz, and the two remain fast friends today.
