A Message from the Office

As I sit here contemplating what to say, I’m looking out my window at a breathtakingly beautiful day - sunny with a few white, puffy clouds floating along, deep blue sky, a hint of a breeze, and the hint of turning colors. I can’t believe the summer is over, yet I am excited for the classic signs of autumn - agricultural fairs, pumpkin spice lattes, corn mazes, warm sweaters, the vibrant foliage. We are at the change of another season.

As we change seasons, I am often reminded of seasons in our lives. We see many milestones and many changes over the course of our lives. Yet certain things remain constant - love, faithfulness, integrity, honesty. Good values don’t shift and they provide a foundation upon which to conduct good work and good business. These are core values for us at Golden Horizons. So while the seasons change, we want to reaffirm that our values and our commitment to you does not. Happy Fall!
~ Golden Horizons Office Team

Caregiver of the Month: Larry G.

Larry is a Golden Horizons veteran. He first joined our team in September 2002. His journey has taken him out our door at times, but he returns, much to our delight. Larry is an invaluable part of the Golden Horizons  family, routinely going above and beyond for his clients and our company. Thank you for always going the extra
mile, Larry! Congratulations!

Seniors Traveling? Some Tips for Caregivers

seniors traveling - tips for caregivers
You may get by with traveling a long distance with a person in the early stage of dementia. Although, as symptoms caused by disorders that affect the brain enhance traveling certainly becomes unpredictable and at least more confusing. Planning ahead with the gathering important documents or information such as their insurance card, passport, physician's phone number, medications and medical records will ease the burden. It's a good idea to have sufficient funds available if the plans change and return travel is warranted at a moments notice. Credit: Today's Caregiver
