Groton Active Living Expo

Living Expo
The day dawned sunny and fresh. Though chilly, it carried the promise of warmth and a hint of spring in the air...

I know, I know, it sounds like the beginning of a captivating story, but I promise it's how the day felt. I even opened my sun roof!
It was last week. Brenda and I got to participate in the Active Living Expo at the Groton Senior Center representing Golden Horizons. It was a lot of fun interacting with all the seniors who came by our table and with all the vendors. It was indeed an active day!

Speaking of being active, what do you to stay active? With spring and summer approaching, and the hope that we may escape this New England Narnia, the weather promises to be more conducive to outdoor explorations. For me, staying active includes a variety of things - going to the gym, doing home workouts, biking, hiking, walking or playing a good game of softball. Staying active carries benefits emotionally, mentally and physically. Activity and exercise gets the blood flowing, heart pumping and releases chemicals in the brain that boost our positive feelings and perspectives, it helps to keep our bodies and immune system working right. Activity keeps us healthier longer and promotes vitality.

As spring and summer approach, we at Golden Horizons encourage you to get active, enjoy the outdoors in any way you can! It doesn't have to be intense. It can be as simple as a refreshing walk through the garden or around the block. Get active and promote your health!
